All the info you need for our Virtual Choir Special Music

WHAT IS ALL THIS ABOUT?

I need your help singing special music for an upcoming Sabbath

BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE THERE IN PERSON!

It will be a pre-recorded virtual choir, and you can do your part at your convenience any time over the next month.

We did this once before and it was a great! I think it would be pretty cool if you would join us this time!

All you need is a computer with a built-in camera and headphones!

THE SONG:

The song for this next one is: "Whom Shall I Fear"

HOW WE WILL MAKE IT WORK:

Please learn the voice part for your vocal range (soprano, alto, tenor, or bass)

Then, record yourself singing your part (video and audio) WHILE YOU LISTEN TO THE MUSIC THROUGH HEADPHONES.

I'm making this so easy, anyone can do it! I have 5 different recordings where I play/sing each harmony part of the song (soprano 1 & 2, alto, tenor & bass). So all you have to do is sing along with the recording that is playing your part!

If you haven't already, please let me know what part you are singing.

I need your video/singing recording by ______ to put it all together.

You can email or send a google drive link of your recording to me at sarah.steward23@gmail.com anytime between now and ______.

TIPS FOR RECORDING:

• Find a quiet place with no background noise.
• Have one or both headphones in.
• Have the sheet music on your computer screen to follow.
• Position your camera as you would for a headshot for work or school shoulders up is fine.
• If you are using a phone to record, please have it in landscape view.
• If you can, make this an opportunity to do your hair nice, dress up, and wear a smile as this will be part of the church service.
• Please try to follow the singers as best you can, keeping time with them and making sure to cut off when they do. Please don't hold your notes out longer than the singers on the track.

For the Tenor, if any ladies are singing this part, please feel free to sing an octave higher if it gets too low.

For the Bass you're lucky! It's mostly the melody! But it's pretty high, so if anyone wants to come up with a true bass line and record it, you are welcome to!
